After choosing our genre, we looked into music that would be appropriate for us to use in our trailer. The music has to be copyright free, so we messaged someone I knew to see if they will let us use one of his songs. He is a singer/songwriter which we researched is commonly used in social realism trailers.
We chose to use his song 'Peter's reply' as we felt the emotive lyrics suited the mood of our trailer and went hand in hand with what the protagonist feels.
They lyrics are as follows:
Wendy don't give me that
It's all been said beforeIt's come out of a dozen mouths
I never thought it'd come from yours
I know that I'm a mess right now
That's why I called you round
If you really mean that you don't care go back to London town
I'll be fine
Wendy there's no pretence
When I called you I was pissed
Of everyone who's left my life
You're the only one I miss
I ask myself if I went wrong with the company I keep
I need a line of fairy dust just to get myself to sleep
But I'm fine
Please don't think that I
Brought you here to take you upstairs
It's just that I needed someone to be a friend
But the way that you're behaving did you ever really care
Or just pretend
Wendy regarding Bella at least she stuck around
We were like two phantom spirits haunting this home town
And yeah we both got lonely sometimes stuck up in that tree
But once you went to uni when did you ever think of me
You never called
Please don't think that I
Want another painted face
I need a hand and you're the only one
Who'd ever tell it to me straight
At least you were
Wendy please don't complain about my lack of vision
My eyes are always blurry, and the time just keeps on ticking
You moan about me chasing dreams while you're all moving on
It's hard to live an adult life when all my friends are gone
I'm still here
Please don't think that I
Want you in my room
It looks like this friendship meant more to me
Than it ever did to you.
