After planning our storyboard, we decided we wanted some non-diegetic music after our first blackout and to suit the genre of social realism, we needed a singer-songwriter. This also needed to be a song that wasn't copyrighted, and I knew a friend that writes his own songs, after finding one that fitted well lyrically, we messaged him to see if we could use it and he said yes.
